We are a small company seeking a hands-on Lead Engineer to own the design, development, and reliability of our product platform. This role is ideal for a highly independent builder who enjoys solving ambiguous, complex problems and moving quickly from concept to production.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end development across frontend, backend, APIs, databases, and cloud infrastructure.

• Architect scalable, secure, maintainable systems appropriate for an early-stage company.

• Translate product and customer needs into pragmatic technical solutions and ship high-quality features quickly.

• Debug complex production issues, improve performance and reliability, and establish monitoring and alerting.

• Work directly with founders, product stakeholders, and customers to prioritize technical work.

• Provide on-call customer and technical support, including timely investigation and resolution of production incidents.

• Establish engineering standards for code quality, testing, documentation, security, and deployment.

Qualifications

• Strong full-stack engineering experience, with demonstrated ownership of production web applications.

• Deep frontend experience with modern web frameworks and strong backend experience building APIs, services, and data models.

• Comfortable with cloud infrastructure, CI/CD, observability, authentication, and secure software development practices.

• Proven ability to work independently, make sound technical decisions with incomplete information, and solve complex problems hands-on.

• Excellent debugging skills and a customer-oriented mindset.

• Comfortable operating in a fast-paced early start-up environment where priorities evolve and everyone contributes beyond a narrow job scope.

Preferred

• Experience building products in regulated, healthcare, enterprise SaaS, or data-intensive environments.

• Prior startup experience or experience as an early engineering hire.

• 10 years experience.
